Fighting Hunger—One Grocery Bag at a Time!
There may be times after worship that you see an HEB shopping cart in the narthex. It is there to continue a mission project established by our Outreach and Social Concerns Committee. Because more and more families are seeking groceries from the church these days, the committee decided to provide grocery bags and a suggested grocery list of nonperishable items. Church members can pick up a bag on Sunday, fill it up during the week and bring it back the next Sunday. Items on the list are merely suggestions to create several meals for a family on a tight budget. For less than $20, two of our committee members were able to stuff a grocery bag with substantial food. You can do a bag on your own, or ask a friend to share the cost with you. If you are just not up for shopping, you can make a donation to purchase an HEB card to include with the non-perishables so that a family can complete its meals.
