Bible Study, " The Present Word": Room “A”
led by Karen Seal, Alita Cooper & Bob Dalglish
The Present Word is from beginning to end a Bible study series. Teachers and learners come together to reflect on the Biblical text and to act on what they discover there. The sessions feature the great celebrations of the Christian Church, which study the life of Christ and bring to believers the significant events of that life. The Present Word is published jointly by the Christian Church, the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the Moravian Church in America, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the United Church of Christ.

Social Issues Class:
The Challenge of EasterWhy do we celebrate Easter? Lost among the colored eggs and chocolate candies is Easter's bold, almost unbelievable claim: Jesus has risen from the dead, and now everything is different.
In this brief book, historian, Biblical scholar and best-selling author N. T. Wright explores Easter at its earliest context. In this book, we meet Jesus’ followers as they discover God’s promises and pronounce a new era that unsettled their friends and scandalized their oppressors. That era extends to our day, where to celebrate Easter is to receive an invitation to live as though God is among us, making everything new. Join us as we discuss the following topics:
1. The Question of Jesus' Resurrection 2. Paul, the Resurrection and the Messianic Movement 3. The Gospel Accounts 4. The Light of the World 5. Retaining and Forgiving Sins
