Men’s Prayer Breakfast

Saturday, April 12

8:00 a.m.

A Brief Statement of Faith

As the season of Easter continues through April, we will explore the most recent faith statement in the PCUSA Book of Confessions.   The beautiful images in this faith statement  give us rich and vivid ways of understanding the risen Lord and his call to new life.  Participants will be encouraged to  formulate their own statement of faith to serve as a personal reminder of God’s power in our daily life.

OHPC  25th Garage Sale Mania

Saturday, June 7, 2008

You’ve heard all of this before.  25 years of the same                message.

But the church depends on your volunteer service as well as your discards of unwanted unneeded extra stuff that’s                cluttering up your house and garage.

Just ask Jack where the money recently came from to           purchase 2 air conditioning units – no, not from pleas or your pockets, but from the proceeds of past garage sales.

So gear up and spring forward to another fun-filled week of unpacking, sorting, pricing, and selling!  As well as making new friends, finding bargains, and enjoying the camaraderie.

Right now we’re asking you to start gathering and cleaning out your house – ask your friends and neighbors too.  You have 2 months to make this 25th garage sale the best in history!

Volunteer inserts will be in April Sunday bulletins or call

LaVunn at 493-1520.

There is a storage unit at the church, so start bringing your stuff in.

The Caritas committee meets every third           Tuesday at 11:00 am after Bible Study.  We discuss visiting the shut-ins and people in the hospital.

If anyone would like to be in this group just let me know, we would welcome you. If you know of          anyone needing visits or phone calls please let me know too. We keep small loaf breads , cakes  or cookies in small packages in the freezer to be taken to the shut-ins we visit.  Anyone that would like to bake a few extra to add to that bag marked Caritas is more than welcome to do so.

. . .Ron Harmon and his son, Ken, would like to       extend their gratitude to all of you who showered them with love and prayers when Ron’s wife, Idalia,  passed away last month.   They were deeply appreciative of your cards, memorial gifts and your support during this difficult time.
