Oak Hills Presbyterian Church began when the New Church Development Committee of the Austin Presbytery and the Board of National Missions of the United Presbyterian Church in the United States of America secured the services of the Rev. John E. Williams to organize a new church in the proposed medical area of Northwest San Antonio. Sunday, June 23, 1957 was the first service.

The Oak Hills congregation met for over two years in the Northwest Y.M.C.A. In July of 1959 the first unit of the current church was dedicated. A Christian Education unit and parking lot were added in 1964. Another Christian Education unit, Resource Center and kitchen were added in 1983. In 1999 the newly expanded sanctuary and education/office wing were dedicated to the Glory of God.

With the merger of the United Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. and the Presbyterian Church U.S. in 1983, we are now a member of Mission Presbytery and the Synod of the Sun of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
