Rev. Katheryn Barlow-Williams

 

 

Biography

Katheryn Barlow-Williams is a Houston native who graduated from Auburn University with a double major in journalism and French. In 1990, Katheryn received a master of divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary and was presented with the Aaron E. Gast Award for her service to urban ministry. That same year, she accepted her first call to Covenant Presbyterian Church, a 450-member church in Trenton, N.J., serving as associate pastor for eight years. During that , time, she developed a program for urban children and youth, this program received The Year of the Child Award from the Synod of the Northeast.

In 1998, Katheryn accepted a call to the 1,000-member Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church in Liberty Corner, N.J., where she served as associate pastor for two years.

In 2001, Katheryn accepted a call to be the pastor at Ivyland Presbyterian, a 150-member church in the historic village of Ivyland, Pa Her background in journalism and love of writing has led Katheryn to publish an adult Bible study book, and she is working with a literary agent to publish a book of sermons, "Faith Like a Child," and a book titled "A New Mom's Travel Guide to Joy."

Katheryn and her husband, Gray, have three children: Sarah, 7; Rachel, 6; and Sam, 4.  Gray is a hands-on dad who supports and encourages Katheryn to use her gifts for preaching and pastoral care. The Williams enjoy spending time together and watching their children interact with each other and the world.
